Report

Trinity College Dublin beat Dublin City University 70-64 in the Women’s Division A Varsity Final in the National Indoor Arena in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. They managed to overturn a 21-point DCU lead. The reigning Champions were surprised by the Trinity team, led by MVP Sorcha Tiernan, and supported by Sarah Kenny, Rachel Huijsdens and Rebecca Rabeiro.

The holders, DCU led 26-13 in the second quarter when the comeback began, and by halftime Trinity College had turned the deficit into just 9 points. 42-33. Despite outstanding displays from DCU’s Megan Connolly and Aoife Maguire, the Trinity team overturned the deficit by the end of the third quarter to lead 57-50, before finishing off in style, eventually winning 70-64.
