Final: Pyrobel Killester 54 St. Mary’s Castleisland 71
St. Mary’s dominated this game from the start behind the superb shooting of Denise Dunlea and gritty defence. They were 21-10 up at the end of the first quarter, and despite great shooting from Ali Connelly, Catriona White and Niamh O’Donovan for Killester, they were 19-points up at half-time (41-24), a lead they would hold onto for the rest of the match, ending the third quarter 58-38 ahead, and the final whistle blew with Castleisland 71-54 winners. Denise Dunlea won the MVP award for her dominant display on both sides of the court, and could not have done without a superb team effort backing her up. [3]
