Report

Louis Meteors won their record seventh All-Ireland Blitz Title since 1968 in the Final edition of the competition in 1978 [Reference: 8]. Other winners of the All-Ireland Blitz were Corinthians (also from Dublin) in 1972 and 1975, St. Vincent’s (1971) and Marathon, another Dublin team, in 1974.

About

The Ladies All-Ireland Championship was the Amateur Basketball Association of Ireland’s Annual Blitz to determine the Irish Club Champions. In 1978 the Blitz was replaced by a National League in line with the Men’s which had also replaced the All-Ireland Championship in 1973. (see https://eirball.ie/2018/12/19/ibba-ladies-national-basketball-league-1980-1991/ for the Ladies National Basketball League 1980-1991).

The Amateur Basketball Association of Ireland was organised very like the Gaelic Athletic Association prior to 1973, with All-Ireland County & Club Championships, and after the introduction of the National Leagues based on clubs, was renamed the Irish Basketball Association in 1980.
