Report
Ireland won their Division B Qualifying Group with a 4-2 record, beating Malta twice and getting victories at home to Slovakia and Switzerland. Ireland needed to win by 13 points in their last group game to top the table on points difference ahead of Slovakia and Switzerland and did just about enough, beating Slovakia 82-68.
Ireland thus qualified for the Qualification Games Playoff with Denmark to determine who would go forward to the Semi-Final Round and after a promising first leg in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght, Ireland were 14 points up having won 80-66, but it was not to be enough as the Danes pulled out an 86-70 win in Aarhus the following week to go through ny 2 points.
