About Basketball Ireland All-Ireland Club Cups /
Irish Basketball Association Championships
The Amateur Basketball Association of Ireland replaced the All-Ireland County and Club Championships in 1973 with a National League based on clubs, and while the All-Ireland Championships for Adults were phased out, they were replaced by Underage Regional Championships in the renamed Irish Basketball Association, whereby the winners of Regional contests met in an All-Ireland-style playoff. They were renamed All-Ireland Club Cups with the rebranding to Basketball Ireland in 2003.
