Options Unlimited Junior Flag Football, Basketball and Baseball, Ballybrack and Loughlinstown 1986

A new scheme, Options Unlimited, was launched in the Ballybrack and Loughlinstown areas of South Co. Dublin on 30 June 1986, by Dun Laoghaire VEC, which offered a wide variety of sports for up to 1,500 children, including Flag Football (a non-contact version of American Aootball, like Tag Rugby), Basketball and Baseball.

It was Co-Ordinated by Kelvin Troy, who played the 1985-86 season as a Professional American Import for Premier Milk Toppers Killester in the Irish Basketball Association Men’s National League. It operated from its base in Cedar Court, Ballybrack and was funded by the Department of Labour, and had a 14-strong team of workers. It was a pilot scheme and was to be extended if successful.
