BAIA All-Ireland Minor Championship Finals 1953-1973 [Reference: 1-24]

Report

The All-Ireland Minor Championships were won by Kilkenny from 1953 to 1955, before Antrim won three finals out of four from 1956 to 1959 (with Dublin breaking the sequence in 1957), Kerry then won the five-in-a-row from 1960 to 1964, before Dublin went on a winning streak from 1965 to 1968.

There were then two years of Kerry victories (1969 to 1970), before Dublin also won two in-in-a-row from 1971 to 1972, Cork took the 1973 title.

About

The Amateur Basketball Association of Ireland (now Basketball Ireland) was the organisation in charge of running Basketball in Ireland from 1947 to 1979 when it changed its name to the Irish Basketball Association.

From 1953 to 1973 it was organised on a Club and County basis like the Gaelic Athletic association, and the All-Ireland Minor Championship was the Underage County Championship.

The Minor Championships were replaced by the Under 19 and Under 17 Championships in 1974 (still on a County basis unlike the Senior Championship which appears to have been replaced by a National League based on clubs, and the National Intermediate Area Competition)
